Covid-19 Time Capsule Project
If you are looking for something extra that can help find some of the positives of our current reality, as well as bring the whole family together to build some memories, this might be a cool activity.
Interactive Music Activities for Elementary Students
Andrew Ichikawa, from Pathways Music Therapy, has created a website for students of Lethbridge School Division exclusively. He has taken what he does with his sessions with our students in the school and made an on-line delivery method. His activities all have a preface, so there is learning intention involved. They are not Music Therapy but the activities can be used to support music therapy goals, and also speech and educational goals. Andrew will be adding more to the site as time goes on.
Place Value Practice Booklet
If your child has finished the numeracy booklets that we sent home initially, here is a practice booklet for the Place Value Unit. Some of the content in this booklet goes beyond what was taught over the past few weeks and bridges into some Grade 2 content. You can do with those pages as you would like - you can rip them out and recycle them, or you can provide a little extra help when your child gets to these parts. You might also, find your child gets them no problem.
Measurement Practice Booklet
If your child has finished the Place Value Practice Booklet, here is an extension booklet. We have not spent much time discussing measurement in Grade 1, so this may take some extra explanation. You can pick and choose the pages that are at your child's level, or do them all providing extra help when your child gets to the tougher concepts. You might also find your child gets the concept no problem.
Math Notebook Pages 1
When your child finishes the pages that were sent home, these are the next pages for their Math Notebook (cut and paste).
Math Notebook Pages 2
When your child finishes the first set of Math Notebook Pages (above), these are the next pages for their Math Notebook (cut and paste).
Reading Pages 1
When your child finishes the pages that were sent home, these are the next practice pages for reading. There are various levels mixed together, so you can pick the ones you want to use with your child, or print the whole pack and provide varying levels of support to complete them.
Reading Pages 2
When your child finishes pages from the file Reading Pages 1, these are the next practice pages. There are various levels mixed together, so you can pick the ones you want to use with your child, or print the whole pack and provide varying levels of support to complete them.
** DAD'S EYES ONLY **
Here is your big hint from Grade 1... Sunday, May 10 is MOTHER'S DAY... and your child will not be coming home with a handmade craft from school, SO we are sending you all the tools and instructions for a DIY project that you can work on with your child to show Mom how much you appreciate her, during this crazy season and always <3
